Understanding Object Technology in Oracle

Duration: 1 day

Description
Object technology is playing a larger role in Oracle environments. There are a number of key technologies in Oracle that require an understanding of user-defined types, Java and object technology. Participants will learn object-oriented concepts, terms and the advantages of the object features. This presentation is designed to help relational database developers leverage the object features in Oracle. Participants see that object extensions are a natural software evolution of good software development practices. The topics include: software engineering through object technology, fundamental object-oriented concepts, object-based features in Oracle, what is UML and how it impacts Oracle developers, design patterns and the development advantages with object-relational databases. An emphasis is placed on the new object extensions of user defined types, nested tables, varrays, refs, lobs and the new SQL and PL/SQL operators.
