Introduction to Data Warehousing Concepts

Duration: 3 days

Description
This course will provide DBAs and developers with the fundamental concepts and processes required to build an effective data warehouse. Students will learn how to build a dimensional model, develop a project plan and implement a simple single-source data mart. Upon completion of this course, the student will have a basic understanding of the data warehouse design and development methodologies used by some of the most successful data warehouse implementation organizations. Students will also learn how to build fact and dimension tables, create star and snowflake schemas, choose and build database data mart instances and create and deploy index plans.

Topics

  • The fundamental elements of a data warehouse.
  • The key processes of the data warehouse.
  • Understanding data marts.
  • Planning the data warehouse project.
